The Society having a continuous and dedicated democratic leadership following the participatory democracy involving the members and the people in decision making and implementing the decision without being dependent on financial support from the financial institutions including the Banks since 1933, without having any government share assistance since its inception and without any intervention and interference from the government has grown on its own. Another noteworthy feature is that it has consistently accelerated its growth and development by diversifying its activities without any setback and never incurred loss since inception. The social activities of the society are noteworthy.

  A tiny seed sown in 1918, has now become a big banyan tree giving shelter to the exploited masses in its area of operation. Being a robust support for rural economic development, it has truly become a Model Cooperative Society in the country.

Since 1918, the word “Bank” is inserted in the name of the Society before promulgation of RBI Act & BR Act.

D. Autonomy:
i) No Govt. share assistance since inception
ii) Not dependent on financial support from the Financial Institutions including Banks since 1933.

E. Membership:
Excellent characteristics of the Society is that the small and marginal farmer members (78.26%) are the major share holders with 19.9% landless labourers and 1.84% medium farmers. The society does not have a single ‘Large Farmer’ member.

The society made an unique example by implementing the 7th Cooperative Principle, i.e. ‘to concern for the community’ in its true sense. The society undertook and then successfully completed the following social activities :-

1. The society constructed 9 KM metalled road from Radhakantapur to Bohar in collaboration with Zilla Parishad. As a result, about 37 thousand people of the adjacent villages(eight) have been benefited. For this purpose the society spent Rs.14.3 lacs.

  3. The society also extends its hand to ensure prevetive maintanence of the roads round the year.
